OPTIMO HOGMANAY Review

Yeah, basically Optimo was amazing! The crowd reaction, as ever, was great, though the bar area was not as busy as I was led to believe it would be. Still, people danced and sang along and in general had a great time. I think we played very well, apart from the major boob of Aleks' laptop running out of power during (I'm In Love With The Singer From) The Pet Shop Boys - just as some people were beginning to sing along with it! It was a priceless comedy moment, and y voice would have given out during the tune anyway. Apart from that it was great to do something that was more live and interactive as opposed to just singing over a backing track.

We have uploaded a live recording of the set if anyone wants to hear it, though we'll also probably put this out later in the year with some minor tweaking through Little Rock. But if you want it it's at: http://www.sendspace.com/file/0zitix

All the other acts on the bill played blinders too, especially Divorce, who had a mosh pit going in what was essentially a hotel lobby (picture below). Drums of Death was great too, from what I saw, but we had to go pack up our kit in his set so didn't get to see all of it. I went to a couple of great parties after too, even though the place was pretty snow-bound, and ended up talking about Quantum physics with some friends until well into the next day. Rock'n'roll!
