Goldfrapp "I Wanna Life (Niallist MNRG Edit)"
Menergy @ The Vic Bar is TONIGHT, so in prep here's a cowbell-tastic re-edit wot I dun of "I Wanna Life" by Goldfrapp from her 2010 album "Head First", which is really ecellent. I love this tune, it's proper 80s dance-pop, and it will be getting played tonight as a request for oor Laird.

Goblin play live in the UK tonight & tomorrow
Cross-post from Dangerous Minds:
Yes, that's THE Goblin, Italian prog supremos and soundtrack authors of Suspiria, Dawn Of The Dead, Tenebrae, Deep Red and more. Not only will this be the first time the band have played in Scotland and the North-West, but this will be their first shows in the UK featuring founder member Claudio Simonetti. I know, right?! I haven't been as excited about a gig in years!
OK, I know this is only relevant to readers in the UK, but amazingly there are tickets left for both shows (why haven't they sold out?), so if you live in Newcastle/Gateshead or Glasgow, there's still time to catch the band in action. I've had my ticket for ages - it wasn't cheap but it wasn't extortionate (£22 inc booking fee - it's cheaper in Gateshead) and this is GOBLIN we're talking about here. Beloved of horror afficianados, prog rock fans, electronica and dance artists, break spotters, goths, metal-heads, sleuths, zombie hunters and Black Forest headmistresses alike.
Tonight Goblin play at The Sage in Gateshead, with support from Warm Digits. Tomorrow they play The Arches in Glasgow, as part of the city's Film & Music Festival, with a special occult-cinema manifestation from the band OV. Tickets are available directly from the venues (follow the links above) or from Ticketmaser (here's links to The Sage and The Arches). If you don't go, here is what you are missing:
Goblin - "Tenebrae" live in Paris 2009
Goblin - "Suspiria" live in London 2009
Goblin - "Profondo Rosso" aka "Deep Red" live in Paris 2009

Heathers Screening in Liverpool
Me and Joe popped over to Liverpool for the evening to catch a screening of Heathers at the city's CUC. It was a bit of a disappointment to be honest, as there were about 12 people in the audience (in a real cinema). I donned my Glenn Shadix outfit, and Joe had a Big Fun t-shirt, but we felt a bit overdressed. Still, it's an amazing film, and I could watch it forever.

Sapphic Traffic rocked!
Wow, that was awesome! Thanks to everyone at Sapphic Traffic and the Common Place in Leeds for a brilliant night. There were lesbian threeways, Blind Date (with Joyce D Vision and Godcilla Black), drunk people fighting outside, gays dancing to gangsta rap, cheap but tasty beer, drag burlesque, No Scrubs, the lot. Let's do this again sometime! :-D

Joyce D Vision live @ Eat Your Heart Out
Last night's show at Eat Your Heart Out was great! People responded really well to Joyce D Vision, and the rest of Scottee Scottee's cabaret troupe were excellent too. Special shout out to Myra Dubois who we hear got lucky while she was in town. Here's pics of Joyce in action (with legendary drunken producer Martin Hairnet in the background) taken by the lovely Will of Will'n'Rick. We performed covers of Joy Division's "Isolation", "Transmission" and "Love Will Tear Us Apart" in the style of Raw Sex from French & Saunders. I think we will be seeing more of Joyce...

Eat Your Heart Out Manchester (this Fri)
I'm really looking forward to this! London performance artist Scottee Scottee is bringing his cabaret-not-cabaret to Manchester at the Contact Theatre this Friday. It will see performances from Zsa Zsa Noir, Will'n'Rick, Sheela Blige, Scott Gillespie, and our own Growler will be debuting his new incarnation as "Joyce D Vision" (with a little help from Peter Fook and Martin Hairnet). There will be some folk from London there, like Spencer Wood, Dickie Beau and Myra Dubois, so all in all it's gonna be great! Tickets are £10/£6, and for more details here is the Facebook page.

Presenting "Growler & Niallist Presents"
Well, after the success of Vogue Brawl, the Paris Is Burning screening, and individual nights like Zombie Pride and Menergy, we have decided to start an event management/promotions company. We being me and Joe Spencer. If you live in Manchester you will probably recognise him. He's a total camera whore. ;-) Our next few events are being planned right now, more news on that in a wee bit...
