I make no claim that this is a good overall snapshot of VB - it's just some pretty picstures of me ;-) Also featuring Growler, Lady Munter, ZsaZsa Noir and Sebastian. If you want a more balanced overview of VB, hop on over to www.menergy.tv.

Child Abuse (the band, not the act)
We went to Islington Mill on Sunday night to see Divorce play with their new singer Jenny. They tore it up! It could be tighter I guess, but they are definitely on to a good thing with this new line up.
Who I really liked were the support/co-headliners Child Abuse. They play really good thrash-math with overdriven synths in the mix. It's fast, heavy and fun. I bought their album Cut And Run on Lovepump United, and I highly recommend it to noise/post-thrash fans.
Here is the Child Abuse myspace. Oh the puns are endless.

Paris Is Burning screening @ Anthony Burgess Foundation
Again, thanks to everyone who came down to the screening of Paris Is Burning! What a great film - it was so good to see it on a big screen, with an audience, some of whom had never seen it before and loved it. Hopefully, this is just the start of more screenings at the Anthony Burgess Foundation - plans are afoot...
I've just posted about PiB on Dangerous Minds, here it is in its entirety.
Watch it now before it gets yanked:

Future posts will be covering Ariel Pink, Italians Do It Better, Neu!, Shunda K, Emeralds, Gainsbourg (Vie Heroique), Christeene Vale, Tyler the Creator, skwee, witch house and a whole lot more. HOUSE MACHINE Relief (Pt 1)
Relief (Pt 1) by House Machine
The other House Machine demo I found is called "Relief", as a tribute to the label of the same name. I really like this mix, so while I am going to re-record it, I will call this version part one and the new mix part two.

HOUSE MACHINE Jack 2 Jack (Demo Mix)
Jack 2 Jack (1st Mix) by House Machine
Excavating some of my drives in Glasgow, I came across two more House Machine recordings from early 2010, so I have added them to the HM page. This is a rough mix of a tune I am currently re-recording. It's going to have a vocal. Can you guess what it will say?

Menergy at The Vic Bar 2011
AND we've started the PR machine rolling for our monthly residency at the Glasgow School of Art's Vic Bar! It's just under two months away, but it's good to get the people interested. Here's the Facebook event page, which is already quite busy! I've made about ten of the above slogans, so expect to see more of them flying around.

Vogue BRAWL! Facebook page
The countdown to Vogue BRAWL! is hotting up. Joe said he would bake a cake if we got 100 attendees on the Facebook page - well it looks like he will have to bake two now. This is going to be MAJE peeps, Glasgow is in the house and Manchester is GUNNA BRANG ET. If you are anywhere even remotely near the area you would be a fool to miss this.
